Systems & Networking Engineer

Basic Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Managing and Monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure.

  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, networking hardware, and system management tools. 

  • Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

  • Develop and maintain functional and secure networks.

  • You need problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture.

  • Establish networks that cater to customer needs.
     

Detailed Responsibilities & Duties

  • Respect for sensitive and private information.

  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure

  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software, networking hardware, and system management tools

  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes

  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support

  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

  • Moderate / Advanced Microsoft Windows Server Knowledge

  • Advanced NTFS Permissions and Security Group Knowledge

  • Develop, Maintain, & Implement Group Policy Objects

  • Deploy DHCP, Create Reservations, and DNS.

  • Microsoft Office 365 Administration

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)

  • Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices

  • Monitor network performance and integrity

  • Design, Deploy, and Maintain Wireless Networks

  • Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure

  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness

  • Mentor team members on technical issues

  • Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)

  • Communicate with users when needed

  • Maintain complete technical documentation

  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
